Vila do Conde Porto Fashion Outlet: getting there and opening hours
Vila do Conde Porto Fashion Outlet is open 363 days a year and has more than 140 stores according to its operator VIA Outlets (page read on 3 November 2026), which does not publish daily hours on that page. It is linked to Porto by a direct metro line in about 30 minutes (line B towards Póvoa de Varzim, stop "VC Fashion Outlet / Modivas" according to a tourist guide) and reachable by the A28 motorway, so the trip works without a car. Check the hours for 27 and 29 November on the outlet's site.
Tax refund for non-EU visitors
Portugal: you must live outside the European Union. The seller issues an exemption document with a registration code; the goods must be new, unused and carried in your luggage. Your total purchases must exceed €50 excluding VAT. The goods must leave the EU within three months. When you leave the EU, customs validates the paperwork (e-Taxfree kiosks in the customs area, after check-in and with your boarding pass). Avoiding the crowds
A few habits that work everywhere: - Shop early on Friday morning or on a weekday: Saturday afternoon is usually the busiest time. - Keep your passport with you: the tax refund and some discounts require ID. - Note an item's price a week earlier: a crossed-out price is not always a real cut. - Read the return policy and the exclusions, and leave room (and weight) in your suitcase.
