Nights out at a glance

Rua Galeria de Paris in Porto

Where to go out in Porto at night? In Rua Galeria de Paris and around, in the centre: you walk from bar to bar.

Rua Galeria de Paris

The street packs restaurants, bars and clubs. People arrive late, around 11 pm, and the party spills onto the pavement at weekends. Bars fill before clubs: start with a drink at Galeria de Paris Bar, then move on to a club. Some clubs charge entry (about 15 EUR according to a pub crawl reseller).

The clubs

Pérola Negra has a good sound system and closes late; Tendinha is built around danceable rock; Plano B, on Rua Cândido dos Reis, has several rooms and styles. For hours, count on Thursday to Saturday only and check online.

For a drink without a club

Passos Manuel, in a former cinema, is a frequently cited bar; Café Piolho suits a beer before going out. For a view, see Porto's rooftops; for a neighbourhood drink, Cedofeita and Miguel Bombarda.

Fado, pub crawl or a stag night

For an evening of traditional music, see where to hear fado. For a group, the pub crawl (meeting point at Fonte dos Leões according to one reseller) saves you searching; see also stag and hen parties in Porto.

Practical tips

  • Getting home: take a taxi or ride-hailing car after the metro stops (it does not run all night: check the last departure).
  • Prices: not noted for bars; club entry varies by night.
  • Safety: watch your belongings, see scams and safety in Porto.
