What the Porto Card gives you today

The Tram Museum, one of the free-entry museums

  • Free entry to about 6 city museums (according to the sites checked: Casa do Infante, the Romantic Museum, Reservatório – City Museum…). The list changes; have it confirmed.
  • Discounts at 100 to 130+ partners: port wine cellars (up to 50% off some tastings according to one source), cruises, restaurants, shops. One source lists 25% off the Clérigos Tower, the Stock Exchange Palace and the Casa da Música; the Casa da Música guided tour is listed at €9 with the card (€12 full price), and Serralves gives 20% off.
  • No transport included: the version with Andante was reportedly discontinued (2025 according to one source, end of March 2026 according to others). The historic trams are not covered.

Prices: figures that do not agree

Duration "Walker" card (no transport) Former version with transport
1 day €7.50 €15
2 days €12 €27
3 days €16 €32
4 days €18 €42

The table comes from resellers and independent guides; I could not read the price on Visit Porto's official page. Another guide lists €13 / 20 / 25 / 33 for the combined version, without it being clear whether it still exists. Trust only the price shown at the time of purchase.

Transport: an Andante is enough

With no transport included, add an Andante ticket. The Z2 single ticket costs €1.40; a 24-hour Andante Tour pass is quoted at around €7 (confirm at the metro counter at the airport, Trindade or São Bento). Network details: getting around Porto. Children under 12 ride the metro free with an adult, according to one source, so the card adds nothing for them.

Doing the maths

  1. You mostly walk the neighbourhoods (Ribeira, Aliados, Cedofeita): the card is useless.
  2. You visit 2 or 3 municipal museums and one discounted cellar: close to break-even for 2 days at €12.
  3. You take an excursion (Douro, Guimarães, Aveiro): the excursion day earns nothing.
  4. You enter no free museum: work out the discount on your paid tickets before buying.

On a tight budget, Porto on a budget and free things to do cost less than a card.

Where to buy it

According to the sources, at the airport information kiosk, at the Sé tourist office and at the one on Rua Clube dos Fenianos, or from online resellers with pickup on site. It activates on first use. Check the counters' opening hours.
