What to do in March
Alternate: indoors in the morning (Lello, the Stock Exchange, São Bento), outdoors in the afternoon if the sky clears. It is a good time for a first Gaia cellar, for the Ribeira without crowds and for the Crystal Palace gardens, where the first flowers appear. Day trips work well: the Douro Valley and Guimarães. Keep a rainy-day plan with Porto when it rains.
